What you can do to Help
The Past, Present and Future of the
Santa Cruz Island Reserve
Founded more than four decades ago, the Santa Cruz Island Reserve has become an internationally valued site with an outstanding history of supporting research and teaching. The Reserve facilitates and supports scientists, teachers, students, and other visitors from around the world and provides them with accommodations and vehicles for transport throughout this amazing island and its diverse habitats.
Due to its success and the resulting saturated visitation, SCIR has outgrown University resources and is now increasingly dependent upon private support.
Today, increased funding is needed for staffing, operations and capital improvements. This will ensure SCIR's future managment as well as provide safe and adequate facilities for all visitors.
The Reserve's longevity depends on it!
